The Global Board of Advisors (GBOA) will provide GIL support with strategic and technical advice, resource mobilization and promotion and outreach.

The appointment of Srikanth Palem, CEO and Founder of Hyderabad based Four Soft Limited to the board, reflects GIL’s ambition to develop common data platforms between stakeholders in the global supply chain.

Four Soft has grown to become the pre-eminent player in developing IT solutions for the global Transport and Logistics vertical, having developed a diversified suite of applications spanning the entire supply chain.

Four Soft’s portfolio, combined with Srikanth Palem’s hands-on experience as a Career Logistician, provides GIL with an invaluable insight into the dynamics at work in the deployment of web based technology, to create online communities and provide visibility in real time.

Srikanth will work closely with the Institute on a number of initiatives, beginning with a feasibility study into the viability of developing an online portal for the Global Maritime Logistics community, which would be used by all stakeholders to manage the progress of containers throughout the supply chain.

The feasibility study will involve discussions with all the major stakeholders with particular emphasis on the role of the Terminal Operator.

Steve Longbotham of US based Terminal Operator - Marine Terminals Corporation, has also been appointed to the GBOA in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of the Container Terminal Quality Indicator (CTQI) standard.

Commenting on the occasion, Kieran Ring, CEO of GIL said:

“We are extremely fortunate to have on board Advisors - who are extraordinary, proactive individuals, each highly respected in their field; the makeup of the board ensures that we have representation at each node in the global supply chain from the major sourcing economies to the major consumer markets. The Board is also comprised of individuals drawn from the key service industries supporting the global supply chain, particularly, Finance and IT.”

It was further announced that the Global Institute of Logistics will provide accreditation to Four Soft’s Logistics Certification program.
