Employee Counselling - Are you ready for it?

Says Partha Patnaik, GM–HR & Administration, Four Soft Ltd, “We have tried to lessen the impact of lost productivity and prevent health breakdown (physical/mental) through our Talent Management Program (TMP), an HR initiative, which is aimed at providing counselling to employees and ensuring their continued development. TMP ensures that there is a high level of professional support provided to employees who are facing stress due to work or personal issues. Moreover, the interaction between an employee and the TMP team is highly confidential. Most employees voluntarily come to the TMP team to discuss issues affecting their performance. Quarterly one-to-one meetings by a TMP member with the employees are mandatory and these discussions are documented and included in the personnel records of the employee.”

In today’s fast paced life and cut-throat competition, it has become imperative for organisations to be more sympathetic towards its employees. Whatever the route, organisations are leaving no stone unturned in adopting a counselling approach which pays attention to the needs of their employees.
